WIN one of five RSPB Window Bird Feeders

RSPB feeder

This week FIVE lucky winners will each receive the main prize of an RSPB bird feeder.

This is the perfect time to start to use your bird feeder, not only for the overwintering birds but with spring fast approaching migratory birds will soon start returning to the UK. And whether you have a garden or not this feeder is a wonderful way to feed and watch wild birds up close.

The tough, non-yellowing polycarbonate bird feeder attaches to your window with three strong suction cups and the tray detaches easily from the roof/back section (without removing the suckers) for cleaning and refilling.

Not only is this a wonderful way to watch small birds close up, it will be a great learning tool for children and help them recognise the different species of British Birds and get close to nature.

Suitable for year-round feeding - and a fabulous gift for anyone.

This Week’s Runner Up Prize

Jennings Cumberland Cream T Shirt

PLUS all qualifying entrants will be entered into a prize draw to win “Beer for a Year” Terms & Conditions apply.

Wildlife in the Lake District

The Lake District is an oasis of rare native wildlife and vegetation and taking a camera with you is a must.

Probably the most iconic of these is the Red Squirrel that has been decimated from most of England. The best places to spot these are Dodd Wood to the West of Skiddaw and Whinlatter Forest Park to the South of Whinlatter Pass.

otter Another mammal that is very rare in the rest of England is the Otter, which is starting to make comeback. Probably the best place to see these are round Derwent Water.

There is also a varied bird life including the Hawfinch, Auks, Kittiwakes and Fulmars.
