In the style of a light mild, this golden amber coloured ale has a subtle complexity. Made with Maris Otter barley and a blend of coloured malts and sugar, this beer offers a fullness and depth of character which will surprise you.
“Tomfoolery” derives from the antics of Thomas Skelton, Fool of Muncaster Castle in the Lake District. This mischievous jester was infamous for his pranks, and some believe his ghost still haunts Muncaster Castle today.
Fond of his ale, Toms last Will and Testament read:
“And when I’m bury’d
then my friends may drink, but each man pay for his self, yt’s best I thinke!”
