We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Brewer to lead our brewing operations and join our management team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role that ensures our beers maintain their renowned quality and soul. It is expected that the successful candidate will play a major role in helping shape the direction for the new and independent organisation.​
Location: Cockermouth, Cumbria
Salary: £40-45,000 per annum

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the brewing process, from raw materials to final packaging.

Deliver exceptional product quality and consistency.

Help define the core and seasonal ranges from our extensive back catalogue.

Ensure compliance with health & safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.

Appoint and manage relationships with suppliers.

Re-build our brewing team and expertise.

Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and management to support business growth.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Brewer, Lead Brewer, or similar senior brewing role.

Strong technical knowledge of brewing science, processes and equipment.

Familiarity with quality control, laboratory analysis, and hygiene best practices.

Ability to innovate while respecting traditional brewing methods.

Leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.

Passion for real ales and the craft of brewing.
