A legend, reborn where it belongs
For nearly two hundred years, Jennings has brewed the legendary beers of the Lake District. At the place where two rivers meet, in the shadow of Cockermouth Castle, we continue to brew beers that bring people and place together.

Our Beer
Only ever brewed using water from our own well and the finest hops and malts. We are proud our beer cannot be made anywhere else.

Our Place
Cockermouth in the western Lake District, where the River Cocker meets the River Derwent, beside Cockermouth Castle. The fells visible from the taproom door. We are back yam.

Our Community
Jennings is the legendary beer of the Lakes, earned after a day working or walking the fells or taking to the water, poured in the pubs that people gather in. We are the real pull of the Lakes.

Jennings has joined West Cumbria Rivers Trust to pull Himalayan balsam from the River Cocker. Four community Pull Together events this summer, and a beer brewed for the cause.

Membership
The Jennings revival is about more than reopening a brewery. Jennings once stood at the centre of our town and represented something vital: a symbol of the community providing a sense of pride, of place and of presence in Cockermouth and the Lake District. The Cockermouth site closure left more than an empty building, it left a gap in the cultural and emotional fabric of our community. So, this isn't a project just about brewing. It’s about bringing Jennings' finest beers back, re-establishing that sense of pride and giving our community its heart back. We'd love you to get involved.
